The STR3EM format and software are free to use and distribute. We offer the KodeKey License to content providers wanting to sell, rent and provide memberships to STR3EM entertainment. KodeKey adopts the retail business model of physical media with the power of digital delivery. Content providers can control unit inventories of STR3EM titles by generating and selling CSV password lists to retailers. Kodekeys can be voided by a content provider at any time.
KodeKey uses Facebook Platform to provide media personalization for users by embedding their Facebook ID into the files redeemed. Users can access STR3EM files on any connected machine by simply logging in to Facebook. STR3EM does not share any information with Facebook about user activity and users gain 100% privacy over their media from people not authorized to access them such as snooping coworkers or protecting children from mature entertainment. As an alternative, we offer MAC address powered Rental KodeKeys which does not require Facebook for rental entertainment.
By activating a KodeKey License, content providers can:
- Generate passwords for sale;
- Generate passwords for 1 to 7 day rental;
- Generate passwords for membership access to all STR3EM files created under the licensed user profile;
- Generate KKEYCERT 1,344,000-bit password certificates;
- Create STR3EM files in SCREENER Mode.
The KodeKey License is available to all content providers worldwide without discrimination with a valid credit card. When we say without discrimination, we are making clear that you are allowed to sell any type of content you wish similar to selling a DVD. You own the KodeKeys you generate and can sell anything from instructional videos to adult entertainment. We have absolutely no possible way to monitor or censor the use of KodeKeys. All activity are the sole responsibility of the license user.
The KodeKey Server License is administered worldwide by Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS only handles the services billing between the technology provider and the license holder. KodeKey activity is 100% anonymous from parties outside of the licensee and their direct customers.

Step 1 - Get A KodeKey Server License Through Amazon Web Services
(WARNING) Step 2 must be completed for the KodeKey system to work properly.

Step 2 - Get Your Facebook Application API Credentials
Before you get started, you must start a Facebook application and get your API credentials:

If you want to use SCREENER Mode, you must obtain your Facebook User ID Number (FBID). The easiest way to find your FBID is on the Facebook Developer Tools page located here: http://developers.facebook.com/tools.php (under "User ID")
Place your Facebook information in the STR3EM settings area:
KodeKey Management Instructions
IMPORTANT: only use the KodeKeys generated by the STR3EM application. Passwords generated outside of the STR3EM application will not work and you will be charged for any non-formatted keys imported to your server.
KodeKey Types
There are three (3) types of KodeKeys. KodeKeys and STR3EM files are personified with the end-user's Facebook ID once redeemed.
Purchase KodeKeys - purchase keys will grant ownership rights to the end-user.
Rental KodeKeys - rental keys will grant temporary access rights to the end-user for a period of one (1) to seven (7) days. After the rental period is over, the user can use the same or another KodeKey type in the STR3EM Access Panel.
Membership KodeKeys - membership keys grants access to all STR3EM files created under a license. Memberships can be voided at any time by using the "Delete KodeKeys" action button with a CSV file comprising the keys for termination. End-users with voided keys will no longer have access to files under the license and will see the STR3EM Access Panel when they open files. In such event, the user can use another available KodeKey type. Voided membership keys can be reinstated by using the "Add KodeKeys from csv" button with a CSV files comprising previously established keys. In such event, the end-user will regain access to all STR3EM files under a license.
KodeKey Management Action Buttons
Press the "Generate KodeKeys" button to select the STR3EM file you want to generate keys for.
Press the "Delete KodeKeys" button to select the STR3EM file you want to delete KodeKeys for, then select the CSV list of KodeKeys you want to void.
Press the "Add KodeKeys from csv" button to select the STR3EM file you want to import KodeKeys for, then select a CSV list of KodeKeys which were previously generated for the same or different STR3EM file. This function is useful for offering multiple files as part of a single purchase or replacement.
Generating KodeKeys
When you press the "Generate KodeKeys" button under any of the KodeKey types and after selecting the STR3EM file, you will see this panel:
Enter the amount of keys you wish to create and press the "Generate KodeKeys" button. Select a location on your hard drive to save the CSV file. It is recommended that you give each list a custom folder and name for good management. Remember, generating KodeKeys are similar to manufacturing inventory of a physical product and the same proper management practices should be exercised with KodeKeys.
The KodeKey activation monitor will display while keys are added to your server. Do not interrupt the activation process to ensure all keys are activated. Duplicate keys will be ignored in the process.
